Pudong Special Economic Zone
12"x12", oil on canvas

Another quick painting of a woman enjoying a glorified cityscape. This time it's Pudong, the SEZ district in Shanghai. This was done mostly as a finger painting, especially the background, so it's got a lot of blobby, gooey paint.

Also, be on the lookout for my soon-to-be published painting only blog.

not sure 'bout these "quick" paintings...they seem mean-spirited...maybe i'm just crazy...or maybe try them with a male figure..?

It looks like you are enjoying painting!!!!!!...I LOVE the backround scene forcing the light around but the girl looks like she is standing in a spotlight or she is glowing from some PVC residue she picked up from an unregulated dump site! just kidding...maybe around her should glow and retreat her a little into the scene somewhat...I don't think it is mean spirited just take the spotlight off her and she won't appear as so stark and scary!
Again seeing these online is different than seeing in person....
